As of August 2, 2008, we will be changing our weekend Mass and confession schedule. This new schedule will be on trial through the fall, and then we will reevaluate it. All Masses will be in the church.
MASSES:
Saturday vigil: 4:30 p.m. (English); 6:00 p.m. (Spanish)
Sunday: English: 7:00 and 9:00 a.m.; 12 Noon; 6:00 p.m.
Spanish: 10:30 a.m.; 1:30 p.m.; 7:30 p.m.
CONFESSIONS:
Thursday: 7:15-7:45 p.m.
Saturday: 3:15-4:15 p.m.; 5:30 p.m.
Sunday: 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30 a.m.; 1:00 p.m.; 7:00 p.m.
BAPTISMS:
English: 1st Saturday, 9:30 a.m. (class last Saturday, 9:30 a.m.)
Spanish: 2nd and 3rd Saturday, 9:30 a.m. (class last Friday, 7:00 p.m.)
Understanding the difficulty that changes in the Mass schedule can cause, the major reasons the Parish Pastoral Council recommended trying the new schedule are the following:
- All Masses will be in the church.
- The children who currently participate in Mass only in the parish hall will have the experience of Mass in a sacred setting.
- There will be more opportunity for building community in the parish, as all Masses are celebrated in the same sacred space.
- There will be cost savings, due to reduced air conditioning needs in the parish hall.
- There will no longer be the stress of having to set up the parish hall for Mass at the end of any activities.
- The parish hall will be available for more activities.
- The parking lot will be much safer.
Mass intentions already scheduled for these Masses will be transferred automatically to the new Mass times, with the exception of the Sunday 6:30 a.m. Mass. The 6:30 a.m. Mass intentions will be fulfilled by the priests of the parish on days when they are not scheduled for public Mass, unless the person offering the Mass wishes to make other arrangements.
Please call or e-mail Fr. Alfredo Hernández with any concerns. Thanks for your patience!
